The New York Deli, now at 7th and Washington Streets is a direct descendant of the Kitchen Table, the first Marquette restaurant, born in 1975, to bring real bagels and lox to the U.P. And it brought a soup list reaching to almost a hundred kinds, all made on site, no junk from a can or package. And it introduced gigantic sandwiches stuffed with great cheeses and deli meats.

The New York Deli still serves real food, made by local real people. There is no other deli in the U.P. serving as authentic New York deli foods.

Here you can get Kosher style corned beef produced by Sy Ginsberg at United Meat and Deli, New York pastrami, hugely stacked sliced roast beef, Italian beef unmatched by anyone, made from an exclusive recipe.

And the emblem that marks us as an authentic deli is Scott’s house made Matzo ball soup. The matzo ball dough is mixed here, formed here, cooked here in a broth of our own design. It’s the real thing.

The N.Y. Deli has salads, delicate and robust as you wish, and there is the Pasta operation unequaled in the UP. With the exception of the Marinara sauce (which needs time to blend flavors) all of the rich variety of sauces is made to order. Look at the real prices for our pastas and you might find that you almost cannot afford to NOT eat at the Deli.
